Introducing the Mega Ant Moat

This product solves two problems when feeding hummingbirds.
- Ants love sugar water. And if you don’t have an ant moat, the ants will get into the liquid nectar and cause it to spoil.
- Small birds love to drink the water out of hummingbird ant moats causing them to go dry. This leads directly back to #1 above.
Just a quick overview. Hummingbird nectar is basically just sugar and water. We know ants love hummingbird nectar. And if those ants get to the feeding ports, they will actually enter the hummingbird feeder, drown, and then spoil the nectar.
Turns out – ants can’t swim! So, someone long ago decided to put a “moat” filled with water above the hummingbird feeder. The ants climb down the pole, find the water in front of them, then descend back down the pole. Works every time – as long as there is water in the ant moat. Somehow the ants no when the hummingbird ant moat is dry, so they march back up the pole.
Speaking of a dry ant moat:
Problem is, every goldfinch, house finch, bluebird, sparrow, and other smaller birds drink all the water out of the moat. They can drink all the water in under 1 day. What good is a dry moat?

We’ll any ant moat solves the problem, since ants can’t swim, but we needed a new solution for the birds drinking all the water. The Mega Ant Moat solves that problem by being extra large.

The Mega Ant Moat is 8 inches in diameter and approximately 2 inches deep. It holds an amazing 3 cups of water!

The Mega Ant Moat is so large it just about doubles as a birdbath for all the birds.
We’ve done one more enhancement to our Mega Ant Moat besides the size and its absolute beauty. We have infused the product with UV reflecting particles. Why?
Turns out hummingbirds can see in the UV range. Humans cannot see in this range. We see Red, Green, Blue. Or Red + Blue = Purple. Hummingbirds can see in Red, Green, Blue, & UV. Imagine Red + Blue + UV. Well, that’s all you can do is imagine it, since we, as humans, have no idea what it looks like.
To the hummingbird that can see in the UV light range it looks like a target. It actually draws them onto your feeder for you! If you are “hummingbird challenged” then this Mega Ant Moat is for you. You can’t miss!
The Mega Ant Moat comes in 2 color combinations, Red+White, Blue+White. Both versions are infused with the UV reflecting material.
